Here's the awful:

With every complaint, she responded with "Well, I had an emergency yesterday". Sorry for your emergency, but so? What does an emergency five days after you were supposed to have them done have to do with anything?

Several years ago, when we first moved here, my husband took his ASU pants to be hemmed before WOCS. She gave us a date and time that they'd be ready, so that's when we returned to get them. She'd forgotten about them. She told us to come back in an hour and they'd be done, so we went and ran some errands and returned a few hours later. ...she forgot about them again. He needed them the next day, so we had to sit and wait while she did them right then and there.

Don't do it. I tried to get a gown hemmed.

Do not go to Lynn's. Save yourself the headache and frustration, and go to someone reliable and professional.

Naturally, I was pissed. I called back to see if there was anyone in the area with keys that could get the dresses for me...no dice. I told the person that I spoke with that I didn't want her touching the dresses, and that I'd be in the next morning (today) after my husband's graduation to get the dresses.

My husband went back to check early that afternoon. He got there to find that the door was locked and no one was there. He called the number on the receipt and learned that there was some kind of emergency and they wouldn't be back until 6 or 7 that evening. We had to be at the ball by 5:45.

The alterations were simple - I just needed her to make the shoulder straps a little tighter because they kept falling. I told her about a thousand times that I needed them NO LATER than July 22nd. Lynn said that it'd be no problem and she could have them done by Friday July 18th. I never heard from her that Friday or that weekend. I figured she was a little behind, so my husband checked with her on Tuesday July 22nd. They weren't done (although she later told me they were). She said that they'd be done late the next morning. Cutting it close, but whatever.

She can't understand "1/4 inch off the floor, so it doesn't touch". She keeps either laying it on the floor or 1 1/2" up, a huge gap. Where's the median here??

I went in this morning. She was obviously not happy to see me. She pulled my brand new, only worn twice, dresses from under a pile of clothes (that were also wadded up on the counter) and other random crap. They were in unacceptable shape - wrinkled, and obviously not cared for in the least. She told me what the cost would be, and I gave her every reason I wouldn't be paying which included the dresses being SIX DAYS LATE, the shape they were in, and now they'd be sitting in my closet for months or years. Basically I wasted money on these dresses to hang in my closet.

Every item that I have ever taken into this shop has come out better than before. Regardless of the reviews I have seen I would say that as long as I explain exactly what needs to be done, everything is done. I have never had an issue with time. If I need it ASAP, I express the urgency. This is a one woman run show. Lynn does everything in her store herself, with absolutely no help. If you can't respect that then don't go. Each piece that she works on is perfectly done. She's been hemming, taking in, and letting out my clothing for years. I can't say aenough god things about this shop! I'll continue to go for years to come.

Nope.

Two weeks ago, I dropped off my ball gown and graduation dress immediately after getting the dates for both events. We visited and called several other tailors in the area, and they were all completely booked, so I pretty much didn't have a choice but to go to Lynn's.

We went to this business to get several badges sewn on to shirts, when we went there, she told us to unpin where we had the badges and re-pin them (something about how we didn't pin them right). We did, and we were not incredibly careful how we pinned them on a second time. When we got the shirts back, several of the badges were very crooked, and when we took them back to get them fixed, the woman explained (in broken English) that she sewed them on how we pinned them, and she didn't straighten them out because some people get mad about that. Fair enough, I suppose, so we asked her to fix three of them (the most crooked) and make them straight. We come back to pick them up, and she charges us for fixing them. Worst part was that two of the badges were still a bit crooked, though not nearly as bad as before. We tried talking to the woman about how she hadn't been clear about the fact that she would sew them exactly how we pinned them, even though she made us re-pin them in the store, and how at the time, we said we wanted them to be straight with the embroidered names on the shirts, but she only kept saying that it was our fault. We ended up walking away from her store with our shirts, and we will not use her business again. I would not recommend her Tailor shop to anyone, and from my experience and frustration, I would advise choosing a different Alteration and Tailor store.

I told her that I wasn't paying, and to give me some seam rippers to take out what she'd done. I guess that made her mad, because she wadded my dresses up even more and chest passed them to me and said "Fine. You can have them", turned around, and walked off.

We've use this business twice and both times have had bad (and awful) experiences:

She never once apologized for the inconvenience, her lack of professionalism, and the condition of my dresses. Not once.

Do not take anything to this shop and expect to know when you'll be able to pick it up. After being told for nearly a week that I could pick up my items the following day, I finally took them away and walked down the sidewalk to the neighboring shop where I was very satisfied. When I asked about my items, the lady acted as if she had no clue that they were even on her list of tasks to complete. I cannot speak to the quality of work but the slow response and customer service are enough to never do business there again.

I had another ball gown that I was barely able to squeeze into. I had to wear a lot under it to get into it - we're talking binding, the tightest corset possible, and I even had to be sewn into the dress to keep the zipper from popping. I was extremely uncomfortable, and I'm still hurting from that.
